Why Build A Practice?

We never get more writing done than when we commit to a schedule, a pace, when we have momentum. Ever start writing something that you felt wonderful about just to abandon it a week later because life got too busy?

The Practice is here to make sure life doesn’t get too busy. To make sure that no matter what else is going on, your writing becomes a priority, a garden that you tend to daily. 

It doesn’t matter if you write a page or a word, the most important thing is to show up. To give your writing importance, to make your dreams tangible, to watch what happens when you stop doubting yourself. 

 

Who we are?


Trust and Travel is an international writing community that began as a single workshop and has blossomed into an itinerant retreat hosted everywhere from Nicaragua to Morocco to the Sicilian island of Pantelleria. An antidote to the seriousness and solitude that can accompany the writer’s life, our focus is on sharing and guiding and being in good company. Adventure is a crucial component. We take our work and our joy seriously, truly championing a creative life that’s community driven, exciting, and full of inspiration. 

Founded in 2019 by Jade Moyano and Erin Rose Belair who have been writing and publishing across genres for decades, Trust and Travel’s mission is to help writers find the essence of their story, their truest voice, and build a writing life they actually love. 

The Practice consists of weekly writing prompts and guided writing circles, monthly generative   workshops, lectures by guest teachers, access to recorded workshops, plus recommended resources (editors, book coaches, etc.) for continued support and a live chat to keep us all connected and accountable daily. 

Monthly Workshop
Every month we will bring in a writer we admire to guide us through a craft workshop, lecture, or conversation on writing.

Weekly Writing Generative Circle
Write in great company, guided by a specific theme, or use this time to write at your own discretion, together with the rest of the group.
